How to make chocolate with cocoa?
Cocoa is the basic ingredient of all chocolate. It’s essential in both artisanal and mass-produced confectionery. For your own chocolate, dark cocoa is generally recommended. You’ll find many similar recipes online, but I’m offering one of the simplest and most popular.
You need:
- 100 g butter (1/2 standard cube)
- 1 glass of full-fat milk,
- 3-4 tablespoons of dark cocoa,
- 2/3 cup sugar or less (or honey),
- 200 g of powdered milk
If you’re a fan of nutty chocolate, for example, don’t forget that you can add your favorite ingredients to the list above. For example, raisins, cranberries, crushed walnuts, or almonds.
Preparation :
- Bring a cup of milk to a boil in a small saucepan. Add 100g of butter and stir until melted.
- Pour in 2/3 cup of sugar and 3 or 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Stir until a dark brown liquid of uniform consistency forms.
- Pour it into a bowl and add 200g of powdered milk. Mix until all lumps disappear. Then you can add nuts or other ingredients, for example.
- Pour the mixture into a flat cake pan and refrigerate. Wait for it to set. Finally, cut the chocolate into cubes.

What should be added to chocolate to make it liquid?
I’ve given you some recipes for making chocolate in a traditional form, without adding powdered milk. This isn’t the only form, as liquid chocolate is just as delicious added to various desserts, such as cakes, especially on cold winter days!
First, to achieve this consistency, an ingredient must be melted. Professionals use chocolate warmers, while at home, a double boiler with a bowl works well. Simply place a bowl filled with chocolate over boiling water and wait for the contents to melt.
If you want the chocolate to remain solid but softer, add a little milk or oil. Gelatin will also work. The easiest way to make a healthy chocolate coating is to use a mixture of two ingredients: cocoa and water. Simply combine them in a 1:2 ratio and heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the water boils and the consistency is smooth and lump-free.
What to do with chocolate?
Chocolate purchased from a master chocolatier can make an excellent holiday gift. It’s a delight for both young and old with a sweet tooth. It’s perfect not only for weddings but also for sophisticated receptions where a variety of dishes are served.
One of the most popular forms of chocolate is fondue. The warm, sweet texture makes it perfect for enjoying with fruit, but not only. It all depends on your tastes and those of your guests. It’s worth remembering that the history of fondue began with a dry version using melted cheese, which pairs well with bread, for example.
If you’re looking for more than just a taste sensation and like your chocolate to have a warming effect, drinking chocolate is the perfect solution. After all, there are few things that make you feel better on long winter evenings than a mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream 🙂
